Service Description

Introduce your furry friend to the exciting world of K9 Nose Work k with Happy Tails Dog Training’s “Intro to Nose Work” class. This natural activity for dogs not only works their brain and body but is also a low impact form of exercise for senior dogs. Dogs that are reactive may participate in this class! During the 6-week class, dogs will be introduced to the scent work game, laying a foundation for more advanced training in the future. This class is taught using the principles of the National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW). Dogs will learn to hunt independently, build confidence, and handlers will learn to observe and read their dog's behavior. Please note that dogs must be crated or otherwise confined (in your car, for example) during class, as only one dog works at a time. Dogs with reactivity are permitted in this class, with instructor approval. This class serves as a prerequisite for the Continuing Nose Work, Intro to Odor, and Novice Scent Work course.
